That is such a thoughtful and moving comment George, thank you so much - and for your kind words. If our grandparents survive into our adulthood it is such a blessing. My maternal grandparents saved my life, and I was so lucky that my gran lived as long as she did. Perhaps it’s that generation and what they lived through that gave them a wisdom and patience with life that we lack in our culture now. ❤️
That is so true. I remember my Grandmother teaching me how to brush my hair, fold up clothes and I was so lucky she lived to such an old age. Hopefully, I have learnt a little wisdom and patience through what I have experienced in my life and I can pass on to our kids and grandchildren when they come🌹
What stays with me most is the way you return again and again to the idea that worth is not something earned after healing, but something that already exists beneath everything that has happened. And in that space you create, between breath, memory, and presence, it becomes easier to believe that nothing in a life story, no matter how painful, disqualifies someone from being held with love.
Your words are so lived and so wise. The way you describe your grandmother's presence really touched me.. she seems like a very special person. I recognize so much in your words, the struggle with self-worth, the idea that something is inherently wrong with you. The journey of accepting our ‘perfectly imperfect' selves, and coming back to that truth, that at our core we are people of breathtaking worth and dignity is truly what it is all about. I always love learning from your wisdom.
Thank you Nathalie. I lived with a lack of self-worth for far too long and as you'll know it affects how we show up, the choices we make in life and the way we hold ourselves. I love those words about breathtaking worth and dignity, I wish more people could see themselves in that way. Thank you for your wisdom too.
Thank you for your beautiful presence here, Kate. 💚 Your voice is so calming, wise and authentic. As a psychotherapist, I consider myself a wounded healer - I was drawn to help others because of my own abandonment and shame. It's my calling to be a safe place for my clients, or for any soul that needs holding space. 💚🌿
Thank you too ❤️ Offering those safe spaces when we genuinely know how precious and rare they are is everything. I know you will be such a blessing for your clients and all who know you.
I read this and thought of her straight away,
my grandmother, in her own steady way.
No grand big speeches, no lessons to give,
just a softness that showed me how to live.
She didn’t fix things or tell me I was wrong,
just held me there when the days felt too long.
And somehow in that, without even trying,
she quieted the part of me always striving.
Your words took me back to that feeling again,
that we’re not broken, just shaped now and then.
That love isn’t something we earn or prove,
it’s there from the start, something we move through.
I can see her in this, and I can see you too,
in the way you hold people, in all that you do.
It’s not loud or showy, it’s just simply there,
that way of seeing, that depth of care.
And it made me stop, just for a moment or two,
and remember what it feels like to be held like that too 🌹

Thank you Anil. Yes, without that hope becomes much harder to find. Matthew Fox’s idea of Original Blessing speaks deeply to me.
Dear Kate, your words are truly wise you’ve gained a fan today. I’m really looking forward to reading more of your work.💐💗☘️
Thank you so much for your kind words. 🫶
Thank you for some brilliant reminders, Kate. Love the ending poetry too!
Thanks for your support and encouragement as always Nikki.
